Your Profile is a great way to build a living record of what you’ve worked on to share with others and to win additional work. Setting it up and editing it is easy!
Step 01
Log in to Stir and go to the Profile tab in Settings. Every user’s public profile page is linked to their unique Username
. We assign a random (read: terrible) one to everyone by default and encourage you to customize yours. To pick a new one, simply hit Edit
, make your change, and hit Save
.
Step 02
You can visit your Profile Page by clicking on Public Profile in the menu! You can also go directly to https://dashboard.usestir.com/profile/[your username]
You can edit any of the text fields (including the title, the two text description blocks underneath, and the title for the main section of your past work — which otherwise defaults to Credits
). You can also add additional videos by pressing the box with the + key. To save your work press Done Editing
.
Step 03
Now the important part — adding your past work!
There are two ways to do this.
- You can visit your own Public Profile page by going to
https://dashboard.usestir.com/profile/
[yourusername]
or by selectingPublic Profile
from the menu. A block with a+
sign will show up at the end of your credit list that you can tap. - You can visit https://dashboard.usestir.com/video-credits/ or click on
Credits
in the menu.
Copy and paste the URL of the video you are claiming into the search box and press Search
. If you entered a valid URL, you will be taken to a page which shows if any credits have previously been claimed / if the video has been claimed by its owner. Note: we do not currently support channel links — but if you successfully claim a video, all other videos from that channel will be automatically assigned to you.
- If you are the owner of the video / channel, you can
Claim this video
. You will be prompted to link the YouTube channel to your Stir account. After doing so, any future videos that you post that come up in this Search flow will automatically be added to your Profile. - If you are a collaborator on the video, you can
Request a credit
/Add Credit
. You will be prompted to add the role you played. Once that’s completed, you will be presented with a link that you can send to the video owner to verify your credit (and claim the video by linking their YouTube channel if they have not done so already).
Step 04
You can highlight the work that matters the most to you on your Profile by pinning videos to the top. While on your Profile page, tap Edit Profile
button and on your videos, there will be Pin top
buttons.
Pressing it will move the video into a special section called Highlights
. Hitting the trash can icon on a Highlight will move the video back to the main section.
