How do I create a Split?

If you’re a Creator looking to create a Split (i.e. split platform revenue with people), you’re in the right place! If you’re a Manager wanting to create a Split with a client, check out this guide instead.

Step 03

Start by entering the email address (or name if you’ve previously created a Split with the person), and the percentage of revenues for each Split member.

You can also add a configuration here, including:

  • Percentage Payout set by you, determines the percentage each person on the Split should receive.
  • Cumulative Earnings Cap, sets an all-time limit on the amount of money a Split member can earn from the Split. (For more information, see
    How do Cumulative Caps on Splits work?

    )
  • Monthly Minimum Guarantee, sets a minimum for the amount of money a Split member should earn for each monthly payout. (For more information, see
    How do Monthly Minimum Guarantees on Splits work?

    )

Step 04

If you choose YouTube, you will be prompted to connect a YouTube account if you haven’t already.

Select a channel or video from a channel you’ve already connected (you can go to the Platforms tab in Settings to add additional ones). This will be the source of revenue you will be splitting.

Step 05

Give your Split a name! You can also set its Start Date if you want the Split to start running in the future and an End Date, which can be left blank if you want the Split to run in perpetuity.

Step 06

Make sure everything looks correct, and then click the Create Split button.

Step 07

Once the Split has been created, Stir will send out invites to everyone in the Split. The Split will be Inactive until everyone has made a Stir account and connected a bank account to be paid out.
